I love playing board games. I love the strategizing, learning how to read people, and trying to guess your opponent’s next move. But most importantly, I love winning board games. Board game parties have become increasingly popular in the last few years. While Scrabble will always be my favorite game, there are so many new fun and exciting games out there. If you are a beginner, or simply wa...

You never have to look hard to find original programming on streaming services. And if you’re a bit of a geek, well, streaming services are definitely for you. Stranger Things, Jessica Jones, and The Handmaid’s Tale are all wildly popular.

But what about pure science fiction? Better yet, what about a sci-fi franchise that’s been around for over 50 years? Why yes, it’s another new Star Trek show! But not just any Star Trek show...

A Wrinkle in Time is a visually stunning science fiction masterpiece. Storm Reid as lead role, Meg Murry, can’t even be overshadowed by huge hollywood names like Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling

This adaptation of the 1962 book by  Madeleine L'Engle,  is directed by Ava DuVernay and wrapped lovingly in layers of colors, costumes, and stunning visual effects .

When Meg Murry’s (Storm Reid) father (Chris Pine) g...

When you first start reading Wingbound by Heather Trim, it seems like your typical fantasy romance novel. A young boy named Ledger lives in a village that once a year is visited by the Sky People from Ellery. These winged humans come to fight against the villagers for the food the village desperately needs. Ledger meets Aleoutte, an Ellerian, when she is visiting the village at a very young age. Through the years he gives up e...

Ever wanted a game that beautifully combined the feel of a shooting gallery with western hijinks and wacky characters? Mad Bullets is the game for you. In this highly-addictive shoot-‘em-up, the screen moves through different landscapes as wooden bandoleros, ruffians, and mean ol’ critters pop up before you. Shooting them rewards satisfying wood splinters spraying this way and that, and if you miss, they fold back into their h...

It's finally here! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting not-so-patiently for this movie since the final scene of the last installment, 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I had my ticket and plans with friends months in advance, of course. Going into a movie like Star Wars: The Last Jedi, even on opening night, there’s already so many opinions and spoilers swirling around. For months, there has been speculation about...

Netflix's newest mini series is a western style hit!  Godless dropped on November 22, 2017 and stars Michelle Dockery, Jack O'Connell and Scoot McNairy in the lead roles.  This gritty hard hitting mini series starts off with a stomach dropping lurch of an opening episode and takes off on a short, but thrilling ride.

It’s hard to imagine the vast emptiness of the American West if you’ve never seen it in person, but director and...

I spent a past weekend here in Atlanta at my first convention that was dedicated to gaming- Dreamhack! It was advertised as the “world’s largest digital festival,” the event took place at the Georgia World Congress Center for the first time from July 21-23, 2017.

I lucked out and won a free BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) 3-day pass at a drawing held at  the 2017 MomoCon.  I was so relieved and excited because all my gaming frie...

Over the weekend I was able to attend Cos-Losseum Cosplay Con. Since I’m a mom, I always have to ask myself if this is something my son and I can do together. Prior to going to the Con, I did my usual routine of looking over the website to see if there was a child’s track and/or programming geared to children. I didn’t see either but because it was the Con’s first year, I didn’t necessarily expect to see much.

Since I knew t...

If you thought Charlize Theron kicked ass as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road... she was just getting started.

Coming on the heels of the biggest female-led action movie ever (Wonder Woman), Atomic Blonde hits theaters July 28, 2017. Theron stars as an undercover spy in Berlin in the final days of Germany’s East-West division.  The gender of the main character is really where the Wonder Woman similarities end, however.  This is...
